A faithful re-reading of mid-century modernism, set among palms under bright daylight.

The palette of Walnut-Stained Douglas Fir, Stacked Stone, Bronze-Amber Glazing, Concrete Driveway grounds the home in its xeric setting. Walnut-stained Douglas fir, exposed beams, and bronze-amber glazing settle quietly among palms, agave, and citrus trees.

Located on a sun-drenched canyon lot outside Palm Springs, Citrus Mid-Century was completed in 2023 as a faithful reinterpretation of the post-war modernist tradition. The 240 m² home spans 1 above ground on a 1,400 m² lot, its steeply pitched roof carrying the eye outward toward palms and the desert sky.
