Concept

A single concrete plate, drawn out toward the western horizon, holding the day at its sunset.

The material palette of Board-Formed Concrete, Local Stone, Low-Iron Glass, Anodised Aluminium weathers gracefully under sea air. Local stone, board-formed concrete, and aluminium framing settle into the colour of the headland over the seasons; the building deepens rather than ages.

A single horizontal plate. The Pacific takes care of the rest.

Set on a Pacific cliff edge, Cliffside Halo was completed in 2024 for a private client. The 320 m² residence balances on a single concrete plate cantilevered 1 above ground above the sea, the principal living spaces oriented entirely west toward the sunset horizon.
